You guys, I made the perfect “Hi Summer, We’ve Missed You” meal last night.
- Skirt Steak with Bloody Mary Tomato Salad: I substituted Flank steak and seared in a cast iron pan. Open all your windows because that shit will smoke, but don’t let it stop you. The Bloody Mary Tomato Salad is unreal. I added a teensy bit more hot sauce.
- Mexican Street Corn (thanks to haygirlhay): The most important summer side dish to know this summer. Creamy, spicy, salty. Takes 5 minutes and elicited a lot of “Ermegeerghd, jish ish sho geeeerd” between mouthfuls.
- Nectarine, Mascarpone and Gingersnap Tart: Put this tart recipe on a shelf and pull down every time something comes into season. What goes on it? What doesn’t go on it? Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, plums all sound like a great idea.
I don’t always cook dinner, but when I do, I do it right.
